Please read these terms carefully before enrolling. By enrolling in a programme at the School of Engineering, Technology and Applied Sciences (ETAS) at Wilmington Metropolitan University (WMU), you agree to the terms set out below. If anything here is unclear, contact the WMU admissions team before you enrol.
1. About Your Enrolment
When you enrol in an ETAS programme, you are enrolling in a qualification awarded by Wilmington Metropolitan University, a digital university registered in the State of California. ETAS programmes are delivered online and through blended learning.
Your enrolment is confirmed once you have completed the enrolment process, met the entry requirements for your chosen programme, and settled the applicable fees (or agreed a payment arrangement).
2. Accreditation & Recognition — Important Notice
Please read this section carefully. It is important that you make an informed decision.
- Wilmington Metropolitan University holds institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC) for the 2023–2027 term.
- ETAS engineering programmes are not currently accredited by ABET, by any Washington Accord signatory, or by the professional engineering body of any particular country. They are designed to be consistent with internationally recognised engineering education frameworks, but design consistency is not the same as accreditation, and no such accreditation is claimed at this time.
- Recognition of your qualification varies by country, employer, and purpose. In many regions — particularly across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East — WMU qualifications are accepted by employers, private institutions, and professional bodies. For government roles, licensure, or regulated professions, recognition is not guaranteed and depends on the rules of the relevant authority in your country.
- If your goal is professional engineering registration (for example through Engineers Australia, the Engineering Council UK, ECSA, PEC, or a similar body), recognition is typically assessed individually — often through a competency-demonstration route that considers your qualification together with your work experience. Admission to, and success in, such a route is determined by that professional body, not by ETAS or WMU, and cannot be guaranteed.
You should confirm, before enrolling, that the qualification will meet your specific goals — whether further study, employment, or professional registration — with the relevant institution, employer, or authority in the country where you intend to use it. The WMU admissions team can help you understand what the qualification is and is not, but cannot guarantee recognition outcomes that are decided by third parties.
3. Your Responsibilities as a Student
You agree to:
- Provide true and accurate information in your application and enrolment.
- Meet the academic requirements and deadlines of your programme.
- Complete your own work and uphold academic integrity. WMU does not issue qualifications without genuine academic engagement and assessment.
- Pay the applicable fees in accordance with your agreed payment schedule.
- Comply with WMU's student policies as published and updated from time to time.
4. Assessment & Award
Your work will be assessed through methods appropriate to your programme, which may include project papers, assignments, essays, reports, case studies, presentations, and — for recognition-of-prior-learning candidates — portfolios. Assessment is carried out by qualified faculty.
Your qualification is awarded by WMU on successful completion of all programme requirements.
5. Fees, Payment & Refunds
Fees, payment arrangements, and the refund and withdrawal policy are set out on the Fees and Refund & Withdrawal pages and form part of these terms. Please read them before enrolling.
6. Changes to Programmes
ETAS may update programme content, structure, delivery methods, and unit offerings to keep them current and industry-relevant. Where changes are material, enrolled students will be informed and reasonable steps taken to ensure continuity of study.
7. Your Data
Your personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Complaints & Appeals
If you have a concern or wish to appeal an academic decision, the Complaints & Appeals process explains how to raise it. We encourage you to raise concerns early so they can be resolved.
9. This Agreement
These terms, together with the Fees, Refund & Withdrawal, Privacy, and Complaints & Appeals pages, form the agreement between you and WMU in respect of your enrolment. They may be updated from time to time; the version in force at the time of your enrolment applies to that enrolment, and material changes will be communicated to enrolled students.
This page provides important information for prospective and enrolled students. If you are unsure whether an ETAS qualification is right for your goals, contact the WMU admissions team before enrolling.
