Recognition & quality
How WMU's programmes are quality-assured and recognised — stated plainly, so you can make an informed decision.
ASIC Accredited Institution, 2023–2027
Wilmington Metropolitan University is accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities (ASIC) as a Premier institution, with commendable grades across Management and Staff Resources, Learning and Teaching / Course Delivery, and Marketing and Recruitment.
Our position, honestly stated
Wilmington Metropolitan University is a non-traditional, global online institution and does not claim U.S. regional accreditation (USDE/CHEA). Recognition varies by country, employer, and purpose; graduates can request UCFCE equivalency evaluations, and every certificate can be verified online.
ETAS engineering programmes
The University is actively pursuing further institutional and programmatic recognition in the jurisdictions in which it operates. ETAS engineering programmes are not currently accredited by ABET or a Washington Accord signatory; they are designed to be consistent with internationally recognised engineering education frameworks, but design consistency is not the same as accreditation, and no such accreditation is claimed. Recognition for professional registration varies by jurisdiction and may depend on individual competency assessment by the relevant professional body. Please confirm the status of a specific programme and campus with the admissions team before enrolment.
